Nel Nord del deserto di Neguev, in Israele, si trovano 45 insediamenti beduini non riconosciuti dalle autorità. Uno di questi, il villaggio dei Talabini, confinava con la prospera cittadina ebraica di Omer. Per facilitare l'espansione di quest'ultimo, intralciata dalla presenza de beduini, le autorità israeliane hanno negoziato con la tribù lo spostamento del loro insediamento 40 chilometri più lontano. Nell'analizzare la storia di questi beduini e del loro spaesamento, il documentario allarga lo sguardo al destino di un intera categoria di cittadini di terza classe all'interno dello Stato d'Israele: i beduini del Neguev.
In the north of the Neguev desert in Israel, there are 45 unrecognized bedouin villages around the outskirts of Beersheva. One of them, the Tarabin village, borders on the wealthy Jewish town of Omer. To make easier a possible expansion of this town - obstructed by the bedouin presence - the Israeli authorities negotiated the displacement of their village to a site 40 km away. In an examination of the history of this bedouin tribe, this documentary bears witness to their fate as third class citizens within the State of Israel.
Fred Florey (1971, Ginevra, Svizzera),è assistente HES e diplomato a L'Ecole des Beaux Arts de Genève. Nel 2005-06 realizza Amotmalies, nel 2002 Le sourire Expo, documentario di 13 minuti.
Fred Florey was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1971: he is an HES assistant with a degree in Fine Arts. He shot two documentaries: Amotmalies in 2005-2006, and Le Sourire Expo in 2002.
