Moncef Kahloucha si guadagna da vivere come imbianchino e decoratore, ma dipingere i muri di bianco non è la sua attività principale. Soprattutto, egli vi proietta sopra dei colori. Difatti Moncef Kahloucha è un regista amatoriale, un attore, uno scenografo, un produttore, un grafico, un distributore, un direttore di cinema, e così via. Con i suoi gangster movies e un remake di Tarzan particolarmente vivido dal titolo Arab Tarzan, si cimenta in ogni genere, includendo nelle sue avventure artistiche vicini di casa e amici, oltre a fare uso delle loro case e dei loro mobili. I film sono tutti girati nel suo villaggio d’origine con qualsiasi mezzo a disposizione, poi vengono montati e proiettati per il pubblico locale che sorride divertito davanti ai comportamenti buffi e stravaganti di familiari e amici colti in diversi travestimenti.


Moncef Kahloucha earns a living as a painter and decorator, but painting walls white is the least of his activities. Above all, he projects colours onto those walls. For Moncef Kahloucha is an amateur filmmaker, actor, set designer, producer, graphic designer, distributor, cinema manager, and so on. With his gangster movies and a vivid Tarzan remake entitled Arab Tarzan, he dabbles in every genre, enlisting contributions from neighbours and friends, as well as using their houses and furniture. The films are always shot in his village with whatever means at his disposal, then they are edited and screened to a local audience who chuckle at the antics of family and friends in all their various guises.



Nejib Belkadhi, attore e regista, nasce in Tunisia nel 1972. Approda al cinema ed al teatro inizialmente come attore, recitando in Habiba Msika di Salma Baccar (1995), L'école des femmes di Mohamed Kouka (1995) e nella produzione televisiva Khottab al-Bab di Slah Essid, dopo aver fatto degli studi in Gestione e Marketing a Cartagine.
Lavora successivamente come regista su Canal+Horizons; tra il 1999 ed il 2001 è autore, regista e presentatore della trasmissione “Chams Alik”.
Nel 2002 fonda, con l'amico Imed Marzouk, Propaganda Production. Dirige e produce il falso reality show Dima Labess per la televisione tunisina e nel 2005 il cortometraggio Tsawer (da una sceneggiatura di Souad Ben Slimane). VHS Kahloucha è il suo ultimo lavoro.


Nejib Belkadhi, actor and director, was born in Tunisia in 1972. His first contact with the worlds of cinema and theatre is as an actor: he played in Habiba Msika by Salma Baccar (1995), L’école des femmes by Mohamed Kouka (1995) and in the TV production Khottab al-Bab by Slah Essid, after studies of Marketing in Carthage.
Later he worked as director for Canal+Horizons; between 1999 and 2001 he was author, director and host of the programme “Chams Alik”. In 2002 he founded, with his friend Imed Marzouk, Propaganda Production. He directed and produced the false reality show Dima Labes for the Tunisian television and the short film Tsawer (2005), from a screenplay by Souad Ben Slimane. VHS Kahloucha is his latest work.
