Bing arriva clandestinamente in Italia dalla Cina. Ad attenderla c’è il suo nuovo fratello.

«Il film costituisce il capitolo conclusivo di una trilogia sulla condizione esistenziale imposta dalla clandestinità, iniziata con il “Il giorno de santo” (2002) e “Maria Jesus (2003). Anche in questo caso, si è creato durante il lavoro con gli attori un’intensa sintonia, risolta in un cortocircuito tra esplicita finzione e intima realtà: un gap che ha lasciato sul terreno gli spazi tra i visi, i corpi e le poche parole all’interno di una storia sbilanciata verso un altrove che incalza. “Mio fratello Yang” è nato infatti dal desiderio di rispondere a delle domande, ma più ci addentravamo in questa ricerca, più diventava evidente una sola risposta: tutto era sfuggente, inafferabile, rarefatto. «This film is the final chapter of a trilogy about the existential condition imposed by clandestine life, which began with “Il giorno de santo” (2002) and “Maria Jesus (2003). Here, too, during the filming, we had an intense feeling of being on the same wave-length, which ended in a short circuit between explicit fiction and intimate reality. This gap left only the spaces between the faces, the bodies and the few words within a story that was tilted toward an impending elsewhere. “Mio fratello Yang” is a result of a desire to answer questions, but the more we researched the problem, the more evident it became that there is only one answer: everything was evasive, unreachable, rarefied. Gianluca e Massimiliano De Serio, gemelli, sono nati a Torino nel 1978. Massimiliano è laureato in Storia della Critica d’Arte, mentre Gianluca in Storia del Cinema al Dams di Torino. Dal 1999 realizzano cortometraggi e documentari, alcuni dei quali hanno vinto premi a livello nazionale e partecipato a numerosi festival internazionali. Gianluca ha frequentato un workshop alla Scuola Holden di Torino con il regista iraniano Abbas Kiarostami, mentre Massimiliano frequenta un Master in Arte Contemporanea presso l’Università di Torino e il Castello di Rivoli.

Gianluca e Massimiliano De Serio, twins, were born in Turin in 1978. Massimiliano has graduated in History of Art Critic, while Gianluca has graduated in Film History at Dams in Turin. Since 1999 they have been making short films and documentaries, some have won several national awards and have participated to many Film Festivals. Gianluca has attended a workshop from Scuola Holden in Turin, with Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, while Massimiliano is following a Master Course in Contemporary Art at Turin university and Rivoli Castle.
