The winner of Italian doc competition Tekfestival 08 is Il carnevale di Dolores by Cristina Mantis. The awards is offered by ACAB (Associazione Culturale Antonello Branca).

The Jury's motivation is:
The director was able to set a direct contact with homeless people taht unabled her to overcome the limit of the documentary and to make a positive, strong, at times poetic, even thanks to its flaws, project. This documentary is in line with Italian cinema tradition that in this way is renewed.

The winner of International Doc Competition Tekfestival '08 is Margem by Maya Da-Rin. The awards is offered by ARCI/UCCA (Unione Circoli Cinematografici ARCI).

The Jury's motivation is:
Margem is clearly a very conceptual work. It conveys a profound and contemplative sense of space and time.
Margem represents the idea of “time” following the rhythm of the river and the river defines the links between the past and the present in a very poetic way. The documentary is exceptionally executed, showing the skills of the young director, Maya Da Rin, whose strong personal style shows promising future. It is a privilege of this jury to reward her with this award.

Special mention to  Hafner’s Paradise by Günter Schwaiger :
This work represents the continuino influence of the neonati movement by concentratine on its past, defined by oberlieutenant Hafner, a member of the S. S. Adplph Hitler brigade. Günter Schwaiger has produced a sympathetic portrait of a supergerman. Old, alone, having estreme difficulty with his teeth. As the past of the “Eternal Reich” is confronted with its tarnished history.
The music and the editing are exemplary.
