 Kbeard, Gran Bretagna/United Kingdom, 2008, 6', Dv L’idea del film era quella di catturare un momento appassionato. La telecamera sarebbe stata fissa rappresentando una posizione voyeristica. Nulla sarebbe stato progettato, sarebbe stato solo un momento catturato da una povera telecamera giapponese senza alcun edit. Il bacio è stato il primo che abbiamo mai avuto. Ci siamo resistiti per una notte, dividendo un letto senza fare nulla e senza mostrare alcun desiderio fino a quel momento. Il materiale è stato filmato come parte di un progetto che vede la proiezione su due schermi come in Chelsea Girls di Andy Wharol. È stata la cosa più intima e personale che abbia mai filmato. The idea for the film was to catch that first passionate moment. The camera would be fixed as if the watcher was a voyeur. Nothing would be scripted, it would just be a moment captured on a cheap japanese camcorder with no edits. That kiss was the first kiss we had. We had resisted each other for the night and shared a bed and not done anything, not displayed any affection until that moment. The footage was originally filmed as part of an ongoing project to be compiled and shown on two screens in the style of Warhol's Chelsea Girls. I film sono stati una reazione a certa produzione video ursina inglese che sembra solo rinforzare tipologie e stereotipi mancando di un approfondimento che vada oltre una risata di pancia. I films di KBeard citano gli immaginari indipendenti della cinematografia Warholiana, dove la macchina da presa rimane statica e filma i soggetti nella loro gloria non scritta per aprire una finestra nella strano personale o noioso mondo delle persone. Kbeard, has been filming since he was young. Firstly on super8 for providing visuals for bands and later for underground club nights, few years ago he started using video. The films where also a reaction to the short movies made on the UK bear scene that only seemed to reinforce typecasts and stereotypes and seemed to lack any lasting content other than a few belly laughs. The films he made owed more to underground arthouse films from the 60s made by Warhol where the camera remains static and just films the subjects in all their unscripted glory hoping to capture a window into someones strange, personal or boring world.
