 Tobaron Waxman, USA, 2001, 6', Dv Una scena Master/boy tra due transuomini, ognuno in differenti stati di maturità fisica, abilità fisica e mascolinità. Il film propone una domanda su come il tempo scorre per chi ricopre il ruolo del sottomesso, come corpi differenti esperiscono la durata. Il “submissive” percepisce il tempo su un orologio che ruota intorno al suo master. Parte del piacere legato all’immagine di corpi con identità di genere fluttuanti avviene quando il punto di vista cerca di posizionarlo in un quadro di riferimento, senza riuscirci. How long has it been asks a question about how time unfolds for a submissive, and how different bodies experience duration. The submissive experiences time on a clock that revolves around his Master. Part of the pleasure to the image of gender variant bodies occurs when the viewer seeks to place it within a frame of reference, as it goes out of phase. Tobaron Waxman, è un artista interdisciplinare specializzato in performance e media digitali. Ha completato un MFA alla School of the Art Institute di Chicago dove ha anche insegnato. Il lavoro di Waxman contestualizza genere, l'incarnazione e l’esperienza fisica del tempo come sistemi di inscrizione. Il suo lavoro include elementi dell’esperienza della Diaspora nonché testi, musiche e filosofie tradizionali ebraiche così come la politica e il desiderio. La sua attività è articolata attraverso vari media: fotografia, video, voce, ingegneria dei tessuti, internet, biofeedback processing, performance e interventi sociali. Tobaron Waxman, is an interdisciplinary artist, specializing in performance and digital media. He completed an MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he also taught. Tobaron Waxman's work contextualizes gender, embodiment, and the physical experience of time as systems of inscription. His work includes elements of Diaspora experience and traditional Jewish texts, music, and philosophy, as well as politics and desire. His live art practice is articulated through various media: photography, video, voice, tissue engineering, internet, biofeedback processing, performance, social interventions.
