 Felipe Monsalve, Cile/Chile, 2008, 57', Beta SP Disoccupato, sopraffatto dai debiti e sul punto di essere sfrattato da casa, il regista Felipe Monsalve decide di videoregistrarsi mentre cerca di superare i suoi problemi artistici ed economici. Troverà infine una strada originale, sebbene illegale, per pagare i debiti e realizzare un film. Assisteremo così alle manovre che Monsalve, armato di videocamera, effetturà alla ricerca del denaro di cui ha bisogno, mentre supera problemi familiari e si nasconde dai creditori. Il racconto in prima persona metterà in evidenza i piani delittuosi ma anche l'interiorità del protagonista, mischiando humor, sincerità e il dolore proprio delle rivelazioni più intime. Unemployed, troubled by his debts and about to be evicted from his home, director Felipe Monsalve decides to register himself, trying to overcome his artistic and financial problems, finding an original though illegal way that will allow him to pay his debts and pay for this film all at the same time. So equipped with camera we will assist him in the different maneuvers that Monsalve must face in order to obtain the money that he needs, while he overcomes the problems with his family and hides from his debtors. The story told in first person gives evidence of the protagonist's felonious plans as well as his unique character, mixing humor with sincerity and the pain that is true to most intimate confessions. Ha studiato legge e si è diplomato in Fotografia e Film alla Pontificia Universidad Catolica. Si è specializzato in sceneggiatura dopo un corso presso la prestigiosa EICTV, a l'Avana, ed ha partecipato ad un workshop di regia a Barcellona con il regista Bigas Luna. Sebbene abbia collaborato con il periodico The Clinic e come sceneggiatore in diverse produzioni televisive, le sue finanze hanno attraversato un periodo nero, portandolo a decidere di mostrare la sua personale realtà sullo schermo. ¿Habrán esperanzas? è il suo primo lungometraggio documentario. Felipe Monsalve, was born in Chile in 1975. He studied Law and got a diploma in Photography and Film Studies at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica. He later took a Scriptwriting for Film Workshop at the reputed EICTV in La Havana and assisted a Film Direction Workshop with Bigas Luna in Barcelona. Although he has been an active collaborator for The Clinic newspaper and a scriptwriter for film and television, his finances went through some dark times, which led him to want to show his own reality on screen.
