FYRA FRUAR OCH EN MAN Nahid Persson, Svezia/Sweden, 2007, 76', Digital Beta «Mio figlio non fa nient'altro che pensare alle fighe», sono le parole esplicite della madre di Heda, che ha cinquant'anni, quattro mogli e venti figli. Nelle regioni rurali dell'Iran il 14% degli uomini vive come lui, con più di una moglie. Così dimostrano di potersi permettere una grande famiglia. E non appena si annoiano si trovano una nuova moglie. Le quattro mogli di Heda si barcamenano, ma la gelosia le spinge costantemente a lottare e a interrogarsi: chi riceve più carne? Chi dorme con Heda? La regista Nahid Persson, cresciuta in Iran, riesce a stabilire una grande vicinanza con le sue protagoniste e a indurle a parlare apertamente dei loro sentimenti, senza mai giudicarle. «The only thing my son thinks about is pussy» is Heda's mother very explicit introduction to her son. Heda is fifty year old, has 4 wives and 20 children. 14% of men in rural Iran live with more than one wife, as he does. In this way they demostrate that they can afford a large household. And as soon boredom sets in, the master of the house gets himself a new wife. The four wives manage to get on, but jealousy is always driving them to quarrel and to ask: who gets the most meat? Who is sleeping with Heda? Filmmaker Nahid Persson, having grown up in Iran, establishes a sense of intimacy with her protagonists and induces them to talk openly about their feelings, without judging them. Nahid Persson, è nata a Chiraz (Iran) nel 1960. In quanto giornalista nel 1979 ha preso parte alla rivoluzione contro lo scià e in seguito ha militato contro il nuovo regime islamico di Khomeini. Nel 1983 è approdata in Svezia come rifugiata politica e ha fondato una radio locale. Nel 1994 ha fondato la casa di produzione RealReel. Ha girato molti film documentari di grande successo. Tra questi: Last days of life (2002) e Prostitution behind the veil (2004). Nahid Persson, was born in 1960 in Chiraz (Iran). In 1979 she was involved as a journalist in the revolution against the Shah and was an activist against the new Islamic regime of Khomeini. In 1983 she went to Sweden as a political refugee, where she started a local radio station. In 1994 she established her production company RealReel.
