In Wie Feuer und Flamme Connie Walther racconta dell'amore ai tempi del muro di Berlino e di come la grande politica possa distruggere la piccola felicità di due giovani. Nella storia di Nele, brava ragazza di Berlino Ovest figlia di insegnanti, e del punk di Berlino Est, Captain, la regista si concede le necessarie licenze melodrammatiche e, ciononostante, conserva una grande accuratezza nell'osservazione della realtà storica nella città divisa. In Wie Feuer und Flamme Connie Walther tells the story of a love affair in Berlin in the Wall years and how politics can destroy two youngsters' happiness. The protagonists are Nele, a young West Berlin girl, the daughter of two teachers, and Captain, a punk boy from East Berlin. The accuracy in the observation of the historical reality is not diminished by the presence of some melodramatic bits. Political and private life blend in a consistent picture of a period, which seems so far away but only 20 years have passed. At the same time Wie Feuer und Flamme, based on a script by Natja Brunckhorst, the protagonist of Christiane F - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, is the story of an extraordinary timeless first love story.
Connie Walther, nata a Darmstadt nel 1962, si è laureata presso l'Università di Cinema e Televisione di Berlino (DFFB) con il film The First Time (1996).
Ha in seguito lavorato a diversi progetti, tra i quali: i documentari Tictactoe (1998) e Ei in Japan (2005), i film televisivi Und Tschuess, Ihr Lieben (2002), Mord in aller Unschuld (2006) e 12 Means: I Love You (2007). Il suo ultimo film di finzione è: Schattenwelt (Long Shadows, 2008).
Connie Walther, was born in Darmstadt in 1962. She studied at the DFFB and her diploma film was The First Time (1996). She then worked on some documentary projects: Tictactoe (1998) and Ei In Japan (2005), and tv movies: Und Tschuess, Ihr Lieben (2002), Mord in aller Unschuld (2006) and 12 Means: I Love You (2007). Her last feature film is: Schattenwelt (Long Shadows, 2008).
