![]() Cui Zi’en, Cina/China, 2007, 94', Beta SP The Yuanhai migrant’s children school in Beijing is suddenly closed for unknown reason. The pupils are at a ruined manufactory then even in the street to go on their studies. Temporarily class rooms are taken away one after one. From summer to winter, the number of pupils dropped from 720 to 16. They have dropped out of school, have moved to farther schools with higher fees or have returned to their hometown. The documentary shows how school system is changing while Olimpic Games are coming… Cui Zi’en is a director, film scholar, novelist, movie critic, film screenplay writer, and film producer. He is one of the most important avant-garde DV makers in Chinese underground film. He graduated from the Chinese Academy of Social Science with an MA in literature and now is deputy researcher at the Film Research Institute of the Beijing Film Academy.
