Un numero enorme di contadini è costretto ogni anno ad affrontare la carestia nelle zone settentrionali del Bangladesh e a lasciare la propria terra per andare a lavorare negli impianti di rottamazione navale al sud come lavoratori stagionali. Il film segue un gruppo di operai del nord e li accompagna per quattro mesi di lavoro nell'impianto di PHP, uno dei trenta impianti che sorgono lungo le coste di Chittagong. I lavoratori smantellano l'immondizia del mondo occidentale: petroliere, navi passeggeri e da trasporto.

A huge number of farmers are forced by the annual famine in Northern part of Bangladesh to leave their homeland and come to the shipyards in the South to work as seasonal workers. The film follows a group of workers from the North and accompanies them for four months during their work in the PHP-yard, one of thirty yards that line the beaches of Chittagong. The workers dismantle the garbage of the Western World: oil tankers, vast container and passenger ship.

Shaheen Dill-Riaz, dal 1982 al 1987 studia al Comilla Cadet College in Bangladesh, si laurea nel 1988. Dal 1988 fa parte della Film Society bengalese e è coinvolto attivamente nel Bangladesh Short Film Forum a Dhaka, un'organizzazione di giovani filmmaker. Nel 1991 arriva a Berlino grazie a una borsa di studio della DAAD. Da allora vive in Germania. Fino al 1994 studia alla Freien Università di Berlino, dal 1995 al 2002 studia alla scuola di cinema Konrad Wolf. Attualmente lavora come sceneggiatore freelance, direttore della fotografia e regista in Bangladesh e in Europa.

Shaheen Dill-Riaz, from 1982 to 1987 studied at the Comilla Cadet College in Bangladesh, and graduated in 1988. Film Society activist since 1988 in Bangladesh; he was actively involved in the platform of Bangladesh Short Film Forum, an organisation of young filmmakers. In 1991 he arrived in Berlin with a scholarship of DAAD. Since then he lives in Germany. Till 1994 he studied at the Freien Universitat of Berlin. From 1995 till 2002 he studied at Konrad Wolf Film school. He works now as a freelance script writer, cinematographer and director in Bangladesh and Europe.
